With My Eyes is a unique 12-week course of dramatherapy sessions which supports young people with their mental-health and well-being. Sessions are run by GSC facilitators and professional HCPC registered drama therapists. This project remains completely unique because we deliver a parallel process with the parents and young people, ensuring that the family unit is carried in its entirety, which is vital to growth, development, repair and understanding.
As a result of the program, we observe from that all participants have shown improvement in their ability to communicate, and this improvement has been significant in enhancing the relationships they have with their families and increased understanding gained from viewing things from a different perspective. As confidence flourishes within the project, it also has a positive ripple effect in society, fostering the development of more meaningful relationships beyond. The ability to express one's needs is fundamental, and this growth within the family unit is exceptionally important.
