Past High Sheriff Youth Awards:
Lower Green Youth Group
The Lower Green Youth Group was presented with a £1,000 High Sheriff Youth Award on 19th January 2012 by the High Sheriff of Surrey 2011-12, Professor Michael Joy. This funding is enabling the young people to take part in activities such as dance, art, sport, film nights, health & beauty and fitness two nights a week – the Lower Green Community Centre also offers an important daily drop-in facility for young people after school. Equipment such as table tennis, pool, board games and sports equipment can now be provided. The HSYA funding was in part sponsored by P&G (Procter & Gamble UK), as part of a three-year commitment of £15,000 to the High Sheriff Youth Awards from the P&G Community Matters programme.
